I hope you’re ready for what is about to happen to you. This could end up being the first day of the rest of your life. Only time will tell if you actually seized this moment, or let it go in one ear and out the other.
Today you are going to be given the opportunity to do more than just read my blog post. You will be given the chance to get actively involved in an exercise that will drastically enhance your productivity and improve your chances for success. You must understand one thing before reading any further. It will only work if you actually do it. So do exactly what I tell you and you will not be disappointed.
The first thing I want you to do, is sit down with a piece of white paper, and a pen with blue ink. I want you to spend about 10-15 minutes writing down anything and everything you would be, do or have, if money was not an object. I want you to list only goals you feel you could accomplish in the next 12 months. I want you to continue this exercise every day for a week. Repeating this process will ensure that you get several chances to update and refine your list.
Next I want you to take a new sheet of paper, and list your goals in order of smallest to largest. Then I want you to go out and get pictures of all of these goals. Make sure the pictures include you in the frame and are representations of you actually achieving those goals. You will then place those pictures in a small binder of paper that can be added and removed at will. This is your dream book. A dream book is means by which to display written and visual representation of your dreams in a place that is easily accessible to you.
Once your dream book is constructed, with your list of goals and dreams, you will start with the first dream on your list. This should be the smallest dream from your complete list. Before I go on I want to give you a quote from Brian Tracy who said, “The major difference between people who consider themselves successful and those who consider themselves failures, is that successful people take the first step.”
I cannot emphasize enough, how important it is for you to take the first step. Without that, failure is guaranteed. You must begin immediately! Not next year, or next month, or next week, or tomorrow but NOW! Engage in some activity at this very moment that will bring you one step closer to achievement of this goal. That is the first step.
Next you must engage in one activity every single day that will aid in the achievement of this goal. If you stick to this simple, yet rarely used formula for success, you will soon be relishing in your achievement of the first goal on your list. The feeling of accomplishment you receive from this will drastically magnify your power to achieve the progressively larger goals on your list.
Do this and you will soon be on your way to a level of productivity, self mastery and personal happiness you never thought possible. Make this the first day of the rest of your life. A new life filled with no self imposed limitations and endless possibilities. Now go get started!
